David Hynam has been promoted to chief executive officer of Friends Life’s UK division and will be reporting directly to Andy Briggs, group chief executive officer of Friends Life.
In his new role Mr Hynam is responsible for the company’s three ‘go-to-market’ business units, including protection, corporate benefits and retirement income. He took up the role in October.
Mr Hynam previously held the position of executive director and chief operating officer at Friends Life. Prior to this, he held positions at Axa and Barclays.

A spokesperson for Friends Life said: “David has considerable operational management expertise including IT and operations and he will lead the division in supporting our profitable growth ambitions.”
