Openwork: Advisers need to boost protection for growth

Openwork plans to help advisers boost their protection business with targeted client-facing campaigns, as well as mobile apps that allow them to transact business on the go.

Openwork is also widening its investment company, Omnis, and developing new funds that will be managed by leading fund managers.

Not only will it be helping them boost their protection business but it is also streamlining its general insurance proposition so that advisers can earn more from ancillary sales and build recurring income streams that help plug any gaps left in the move to fee-charging.

Philip Martin, propositions and marketing director at Openwork, said the network will be helping its advisers grow their businesses next year by giving them the tools, technology and support to cost-effectively and compliantly service more clients.

Mr Martin said: “We’re also bolstering our investment committee who will make so that customers are reassured that their money is being managed properly and in accordance with agreed criteria. Through Omnis, advisers will know they can recommend funds that deliver on what they’re supposed to deliver in the way they describe to their clients.”

This ties in with the launch of Openwork’s second platform in 2013, which is currently being piloted.

The network is also stepping up the marketing support it gives its advisers, thanks to the continued development of our online marketing toolkit Smart Hub.

Mr Martin said: “This provides a range of high-quality marketing materials to help Advisers straightforwardly and effectively service and educate their clients across a host of areas. Next year we’re adding websites and a logo-builder to Smart Hub, for advisers who want better visibility for their business.

“We’ve been laying solid foundations over the last few years. Next year the building will mainly be above ground. We will end the year with an extremely attractive proposition that will appeal to all types of advisers looking to deliver a superior level of service to more clients.”
