Stock-pickers hit the bullseye

Various denizens of the fund management house were to be found leading teams, their heavy gold chains and jokes about ‘winning a tea’s maid’ bedazzling and befuddling the assembled participants, as they showed off their darting prowess – or lack of it.

One can only hope that their stock-selection process is not following the same path: throwing a small, sharp object on to a board covered by the FT, and constructing a portfolio based on the direct hits. If so, Gamlin’s Emerging Wonders would be the luckiest stock-picking team in the world.
