Surrey-based financial advisers Informed Choice have launched their own investment platform for self-directed investors.

After a year of development, the platform, IC Direct, will provide access to 425 clean share class funds from 18 managers at launch and more will be added throughout 2013.

IC Direct is a solution for investors who do not want advice before making their own investment decisions.

The firm designed a transparent, low-cost pricing structure, believing investors should know exactly what they are paying.

The pricing terms are the clean fund charge – starting at 0.09 per cent for the HSBC S&P 500 exchange-traded fund – and a platform charge of 0.45 per cent per annum. There are no initial charges or switching fees for any of the funds.

The website has been designed with its functionality being modelled on the most popular web properties in the world. The site also has a social media element, with users being able to follow their own ‘FundBuzz’ fantasy portfolio. Investors can select up to eight funds to chart their portfolio and share ideas with other users.
