Verona Smith, director of marketing, is leaving Cofunds now that the business has “successfully transitioned” through the Retail Distribution Review, stating that the time is right to take up a fresh challenge in the industry.

Ms Smith has been with the business for six years and she will be working to support the management over the next few months. The rest of the sales and marketing management team remains in place, the firm said.

This is the second high profile leaver in recent weeks after Martin Davis, chief executive of Cofunds, stepped down following the completion of the acquisition of the platform by former minority owner Legal & General.

Mr Davis said: “Although Verona will be leaving Cofunds, the mark she’s made on the business is a lasting one.

“The executive would like to thank her for the great work she’s done and to wish her every success for the future.”

Ms Smith added: “I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time at Cofunds and leave behind a very strong team who will continue to deliver for Cofunds. I wish the business all the best under the stewardship of a new parent company.”
