Eamonn Dorling completed a 26.2 mile course through the town and surrounding countryside, where he ran the gauntlet of concrete cows, to raise more than £300 for charity Parkinsons UK, after being inspired by a friend with the disease.

A keen runner, Mr Dorling finished the marathon an impressive 106th out of some 2500 runners, and in a not-too-shabby time of 3hrs 18 minutes and 35 seconds.
