Ms Woodburn said: “The sector was in high demand with advisers over the first quarter, and it is also interesting to note that UK equities are coming back into favour after outflows in 2012.”

It is dominated by multi-asset strategies and illustrates the increasing trend of advisers to outsource asset allocation to investment managers as opposed to building portfolios themselves.”
