Aviva underwriter says ABI should produce standards

Robert Morrison, chief underwriter of Aviva, said for the sake of consistency it would be sensible for the industry to have an agreed reporting format for publishing claims statistics.

In an interview with Aimee Steen, special reports editor of Money Management, he said it was now on the Association of British Insurer’s agenda to come up with a set of rules for how insurers should reveal payouts on their policies.

Mr Morrison said: “This is a another step forward.”
