The portfolios made available to Alexander Beard advisers are 10 actively managed focused on growth and three that target income.

The co-founder of London & Capital, Richard Leigh, said it follows a “fantastic” start to the year for the portfolios, both in terms of performance and uptake from advisers.

Mr Leigh suggested the move could mark the beginning of more partnerships with advisers on the platform.

He said: “We are delighted to have reached this arrangement with Alexander Beard Group PLC and Skandia whereby our portfolios can be accessed on the Skandia platform.

“So far, 2013 has been a fantastic year for the portfolios in terms of performance and uptake from advisers. Skandia is one of the most popular platforms in the market and we hope that this arrangement is the first of many with leading advisers from across the UK on the platform.”

He also argued that the charging structure on L&C portfolios at 35bps made the company “one of the most competitive in the market”.

Skandia’s recently published results for the first quarter this year showed assets under management increased 8 per cent to £74.5bn, up from £69.2bn in Q1 2012. Gross sales were also up 19 per cent from £2.6bn to £3.1bn.
