Threadneedle to close Japanese small cap fund

Threadneedle is to close its £13.9m Japan Smaller Companies fund due to its “small size and limited demand”.

The group said Japanese equities remain a “key investment capability” but following a review of the small cap offering it was decided to close the fund.

It added manager Sarah Williams would be staying at the group to run its other Japanese equity portfolios as well providing insight into its macro meetings.
