House of Lords to consider Mutual Bill

The Mutuals’ Redeemable Shares Bill, which would allow mutuals to issue fixed-term shares for companies and individuals, received its first reading on 22 July, but a second reading for the proposed legislation has yet to be sceduled.

The Bill was drafted by the mutual campaign organisation, Mutuo, with the help of lawyers specialising in the friendly society and mutual sector, law firms DWF and Hogan Lovells.
