SVG bought out by Swiss investor

Boutique asset manager SVG Investment Managers will be bought by Swiss investment group Hansa AG after a deal was struck last week.

SVG runs the £96.1m SVG UK Focus fund, which ranked in the top quartile of the IMA UK All Companies sector in the five years to August 9, according to FE Analytics. The group also runs the £84.7m Strategic Equity Capital investment trust.

The UK Focus fund is run by Jamie Seaton and chief executive Adam Steiner, while the trust is run by Mr Steiner and Stuart Widdowson.

The groups said there would be no change to SVG’s staff or investment process.

Mr Steiner said SVG’s and Hansa’s investment styles were “extremely complementary”.

“The acquisition will provide an excellent opportunity to develop our existing business and extend our capabilities and offering to discretionary and institutional clients,” he said.
