JPMorgan names corporate bond manager following shake-up

JP Morgan has chosen Andreas Michalitsianos to take over from John Anderson as manager of its Sterling Corporate Bond fund, following a strategic review.

Mr Anderson left the firm last month and Mr Michalitsianos, who has been at JPMorgan Asset Management since 2002, will begin work on the fund “with immediate effect”. He is responsible for investment strategy and managing sterling corporate bond exposure across the firm’s global fixed income client portfolios and will report to Lisa Coleman, head of investment grade credit.

It was revealed at the end of last month that Mr Anderson had left JPMorgan after two years. The Sterling Corporate Bond fund had underperformed its iBoxx Sterling Non-Gilts All Maturities index in one, three and five year periods to July 30 according to FE Analytics.

The review of JPMorgan funds this year resulted in a number of other changes, including the merger of the UK Equity fund into the Strategic Growth fund, and the merger of the Emerging Market Infrastructure merger with the Emerging Markets fund.
