Adviser Home forms Zurich partnership

The website was founded in 2011 by strategic marketing consultant Brendan Llewellyn and Andy Kirby, managing director of Derbyshire-based Mint Wealth Management, and is designed to help advisers run, develop and market their businesses with a range of tools.

The partnership with Zurich will allow advisers who use the portal to develop their retail-protection offerings through a range of the insurer’s adviser guides, which provide videos, case studies and sample promotional material.

Mr Llewellyn said: “There is a growing opportunity for advisers to develop protection businesses, particularly as we approach the winter months and mortgage sales reach a traditional lull. The partnership we’ve agreed with Zurich makes it as easy as possible for advisers – who we know are more overstretched than ever before – to access additional revenue opportunities.”

Richard Howells, UK intermediary sales director at Zurich, added: “There is an enormous responsibility on Zurich, and the wider insurance industry, to support advisers in helping them to educate customers on the importance of protection.

Mr Kirby said: “The Zurich relationship complements our existing strategic partnership with Just Retirement. We are expecting to build our range of partnerships focusing on growth markets in the adviser sector.”

Adviser view

Nicki Broad, adviser at West Sussex-based Pebble Independent Financial Services, said: “I don’t think I would use this type of service as a tool to build a protection business. As advisers, we tend to discuss what the client needs and then match those needs using our knowledge of the protection market.”
