Onuekwusi to head up five L&G multi-asset funds

Justin Onuekwusi has joined Legal & General as lead manager on its risk-targeting multi-asset funds, after leaving his role of head of multi-asset at Aviva Investors earlier this year.

Mr Onuekwusi will be lead manager for the Legal & General (L&G) Multi-Index range which launched last week.

Investment Adviser revealed Mr Onuekwusi’s departure from Aviva Investors in June and that his deputy Nick Samouilhan and co-head of multi-manager Peter Fitzgerald would take on his responsibilities.

The range is made up five risk-targeted multi-asset funds, diversified by asset class which the company said offer exposure to UK and international equities and bonds by investing in L&G’s index tracking funds and the actively managed L&G UK Property Trust.

The firm added Mr Onuekwusi would be working closely with LGIM fund managers Bruce White and Martin Dietz.

“Justin’s extensive experience in managing multi-asset risk targeted funds will be a great complement to our team’s capability, especially as we bring our new Multi-Index Funds range to UK advisers,” John Roe, head of strategic investment and risk management at Legal & General Investment Management said.
