Confidence counter: internet searches for savings

The independent digital marketing agency found that while lending and mortgage queries dominated July’s internet search hits with 65 per cent of queries, nearly one third of UK households searched for help with saving and investments.

According to the analysis, in July there were 3.7m retail banking-related searches but, as in recent months, the lion’s share of internet search hits were for independent websites and news agencies, such as moneysavingexpert, rather than to the banking or building society websites.
