Threadneedle Investments has appointed Soo Nam Ng as head of Asian equities along with four other hires to boost the firm’s capabilities in the region.
Joining Mr Ng, who reports to head of equities Leigh Harrison, is Bernard Lim as senior fund manager for Asia Pacific ex Japan; Christine Seng as fund manager for Singapore and Australia; Weixiong Liang as an analyst and Wee Jia Low as a senior associate.
The five-strong team will be based in Threadneedle’s Singapore office and will work closely with the Asian equities team lead by Vanessa Donegan which currently manages £3.6bn in London and Singapore.
According to Threadneedle, the Singapore-based team will focus on further building the firm’s offering for Asian investors.
Mr Ng joins Threadneedle from Nikko Asset Management where he was chief investment officer.
