Outgoing Prudential UK and Europe chief executive officer Rob Devey has joined Octopus Investments as an independent non-executive director.
During his time at Prudential, Mr Devey was responsible for developing the company’s business in the UK and Europe with an aim to increase its operational efficiencies and focus on customer engagement.
FTAdviser earlier reported that Mr Devey was due to leave Prudential at the end of October this year. He was succeeded by Jackie Hunt, who resigned from her role as chief financial officer at Standard Life in order to take up this now post.
Prior to joining Prudential in 2009, Mr Devey worked at Lloyds Banking Group across a number of senior management roles and was a consultant with the Boston Consulting Group in both Europe and the US.
Simon Rogerson, chief executive of Octopus, said: “[Mr Devey] brings with him valuable experience and knowledge of what it takes to develop a successful financial services company in the current regulatory environment.
“We are looking forward to working with Rob as we continue to use our expertise in smaller company investing to service our customers’ needs.”
