Former Cofunds marketing director Verona Smith is to join Seven Investment Management (7IM) as head of its platform.
Ms Smith left Cofunds in May and subsequently joined industry body The Platforum as an adviser. She will now lead 7IM’s expansion as it looks to grow its current £5.5bn in assets.
Justin Urquhart Stewart, 7IM’s marketing director, said the company was in a “great position” to develop its platform business in the light of auto-enrolment, and Ms Smith was going to be “key” in this move.

“We’re never going to be a mass market platform but we do need to deepen what we do,” Mr Urquhart Stewart said. “Our intention is to grow our assets and we needed someone to help build on that. Verona is one of the industry leaders.”
