Henderson Global Investors has hired Rob Gambi from UBS Global Asset Management as its chief investment officer (CIO).
Mr Gambi left UBS earlier this week after a seven-year spell at the firm, latterly as global head of fixed income. He will start work at Henderson in the new year.
Henderson chief executive Andrew Formica said: “Rob’s global knowledge is a critical attraction to us as we continue the development of our international businesses including a greater number of our investment professionals residing in locations outside of our London office.
“We have laid strong foundations over the past few years by streamlining and simplifying the business. The result is that we are focused on our core strengths in global and European equities, absolute return, multi-asset and global fixed income.
“With the current momentum in the business, and with Rob’s help, we are well set for our next phase of growth.”
Henderson removed the CIO role at the end of last year, with the incumbent David Jacob becoming vice chairman of the company.
