Threadneedle’s Gigi Chan is to leave the firm to take a “career break”.
Ms Chan has run the £62.5m China Opportunities fund since its launch in March 2007, since when the fund has delivered a 96.9 per cent return, ranking third in the IMA China/Greater China sector, according to FE Analytics.
The fund is also top quartile over one, three and five years and has outperformed its MSCI China index benchmark in those periods.
Vanessa Donegan, head of Asian equities at Threadneedle, is to take on the fund.
A spokesperson for Threadneedle said: “Gigi Chan has decided to leave Threadneedle to take a career break and we wish her well.”
