Virginie Maisonneuve exits Schroders for Pimco

Pimco has hired Schroders’ head of global equities Virginie Maisonneuve to lead its own global equities team.

Ms Maisonneuve runs several global equity funds at Schroders, including the £49.2m Global Alpha Plus fund which ranked in the third quartile of the IMA Global sector in the three years to October 29 with a 25.3 per cent return, according to FE Analytics.

Schroders said Simon Webber, deputy manager of the fund, will take on the role of lead manager on the Global Alpha Plus fund and the offshore Schroder ISF Global Equity Alpha fund when Ms Maisonneuve leaves at the end of the year.

Global head of equities Peter Harrison will take on Ms Maisonneuve’s team management responsibilities.

At Pimco Ms Maisonneuve will be a managing director, global head of equities and a portfolio manager when she joins in January.

Pimco chief executive and co-chief investment officer Mohamed El-Erian said the appointment was part of a “multi-year effort to deepen and expand the set of global investment solutions we provide”.
