JPMorgan Asset Management has launched a Luxembourg-domiciled fund which will invest in emerging market debt and equities, Investment Adviser can reveal.

The Total Emerging Markets Income fund will be run by the group’s emerging market equities chief investment officer Richard Titherington and his emerging market debt counterpart Pierre-Yves Bareau.

The group said the fund, which will target a 6 per cent gross yield, would have a sterling share class in the coming weeks..

“Broadening the emerging markets opportunity set to incorporate both equity and debt has the potential to provide strong risk-adjusted returns and a stable source of income,” Mr Titherington said.

“Investors are increasingly realising emerging markets can be a source of growth as well as yield, but are mindful of managing volatility. Combining debt and equity exposure can offer diversification.”
