Schroders has promoted Duncan Owen to head of property, succeeding William Hill.

Mr Hill is stepping back from his role to take on a consultancy role within the property team. He will continue full-time until the end of the year before switching to part-time in 2014. He has worked at Schroders for nearly 25 years having first joined the group in 1989.

Mr Owen, previously head of property investment, now has responsibility for the team managing Schroders’ property funds including the £1.2bn UK Property fund and the £291m Schroder Real Estate investment trust.
