According to a warning on the Fos’s website, many people in the UK have been cold-called by someone pretending to be from the Ombudsman, and asking them to provide their personal data in order to make a payment protection insurance claim.
The Fos has assured customers it does not cold-call people nor does it ask to be connected to consumers’ personal computers.
