Aviva Investors’ head of investments Paul Abberley has left the firm after five years.

Mr Abberley was interim chief executive at the firm between May 2012 and June 2013 before stepping back to become head of investments.

Former global head of multi-asset at Standard Life Investments Euan Munro is set to join Aviva Investors as chief executive at the start of the year.

The firm is going through a round of 60 job cuts after a strategic review of its business, but Aviva said Mr Abberley’s departure was not part of those cuts.

In a statement, Aviva Investors said: “Paul Abberley left the business at the end of November. Over the past few months, Paul worked closely with our chief executive John Misselbrook to further develop our investment proposition.”
