IMA launches absolute return filter tool

The IMA has launched a filtering tool for its Targeted Absolute Return sector following the conclusion of a review into the controversial fund grouping earlier this year.

The tool, which is available on the trade body’s consumer website, allows investors to break down the sector and filter funds by benchmark, fund objective, fund style and management group.

The IMA completed a review of the sector in February and rebranded it, introducing tighter requirements and taking steps to ensure investors were aware that funds did not guarantee to produce a positive return.

As well as the filter, on the IMA’s industry website investors and advisers can access performance data, updated monthly, showing how many 12-month periods of positive returns funds have achieved in the previous three years.
