Barings hires former Martin Currie manager Goodwin

Barings has hired former Martin Currie global resources head Duncan Goodwin to replace Jonathan Blake.

Mr Blake, who left the group at the end of November, was lead manager on the $564m (£344.2m) Global Resources fund and head of the global energy and materials sector team.

He will be replaced by Mr Goodwin, who left Martin Currie last month where he ran the $139m Global Resources fund. He starts at Barings in January.

The Barings fund has lost 18.9 per cent in sterling terms in the past five years compared with a rise of 11.5 per cent from its MSCI ACWI/Energy index, according to data from FE Analytics.
