M&G promotes Tomlins on high yield fund

James Tomlins has been promoted to co-manager of the £1.4bn M&G High Yield Corporate Bond fund.

Mr Tomlins has been deputy manager of the fund since December 2011 and has now been promoted to work alongside Stefan Isaacs.

Jim Leaviss, head of retail fixed interest at M&G Investments, said Mr Tomlins had been promoted because the fund had “evolved into a global proposition, requiring greater investment resource to cover the larger investable universe.”

Mr Leaviss said Mr Tomlins will be responsible for stock selection on the fund, while Mr Isaacs will concentrate on duration strategy and regional asset allocation.

Mr Tomlins also manages the £117m M&G European High Yield Bond fund, on which Mr Isaacs is his deputy manager.
