Metro Bank creates 500 jobs

The bank, originally established as a London banking network, will move into new areas such as Milton Keynes, Epsom and Brighton in a bid to open up its services beyond the capital.

The bank was founded by Vernon Hill and Anthony Thompson three years ago to offer a local banking model to Londoners. It has since hired 1000 employees, half of which were recruited in 2013 when the number of Metro Banks in the capital rose by 60 per cent to 24.

Metro Bank is noted for its flexible opening hours and non-traditional services such as coin-counting machines.
