Out in the open

Macmillan is hosting the week to encourage people affected by cancer to get talking about it. The aim is to make sure that no-one has to face cancer alone.

Friends Life is using it to start talking to employees about cancer and will use the awareness week to begin plans for an internal cancer awareness day later in the year.

In 2012, Friends Life paid out a total of £144m in critical illness claims, with more than 60 per cent of those being cancer-related.
