Ian Carlson, board director at Old Mill, which has five offices across the West Country, said the position was part of “ongoing investment” into improving technology at the firm.
He said: “Over the past few years we have invested heavily in our IT systems, not only improving software but also upgrading the server infrastructure and hardware.”
James Gifford has now joined the firm to lead Old Mill’s IT team. Mr Gifford was previously director of IT at RSM Tenon.
Last year, Old Mill recruited Elaine Kinsella as part of its efforts to expand its tax division across the West Country, where it has offices in Dorset, Devon, Somerset and Wiltshire. Ms Kinsella was most recently a tax partner for Milstead Langton.
