Skandia pilots Isa service with 100 advisers

Platform giant Skandia is piloting a new Isa top-up service with 100 advisers it has identified who have clients with unused tax-free savings allowance.

The group said the service would allow clients to top up their existing Skandia Isas online by themselves. The clients will be contacted via their adviser to “ensure they have an opportunity to receive guidance as part of the process”.

“We are initially working with approximately 100 adviser firms who Skandia has identified as having clients with unused Isa allowances,” the group said.

“Where the adviser is registered on our ‘Find an Adviser’ service, their details link with the subsequent website the client accesses for the Isa top-up to appear co-branded with their adviser’s logo and details, where they can follow a few simple steps to top-up their Isa.”

The platform said this would help advisers provide a “cost effective service” to clients and save time during the “busiest time of the year”.

It added there would be no initial fee available through the online application and adviser servicing fee or commission would remain unchanged.

Michael Barrett, Skandia platform marketing manager, said: “We know that some advisers want the flexibility to offer their client direct digital services for the more ‘transactional’ interactions, such as an Isa top-up.

“We will be closely monitoring the take up of these services and whether advisers feel it will add value to their business.”
