Speaking as the portal celebrated its seventh anniversary, Panacea’s chief executive said its success in building an active community of approximately 17,000 advisers and paraplanners was based on aggregating information which “brought advisers together”.

He added: “We have successfully supported our members throughout industry-wide changes, and have expanded our offering of free tools and support services over the years, and will continue to do so, with our next project to investigate low-cost advisory propositions.

“We started the service because smaller advisory firms were not getting the resources they needed to run their businesses.

“Now because of the size of our community, we have been able to fill a gap in understanding, and we have continue to act as a much-needed voice for advisers, to debate and challenge the regulator and other policymakers about issues affecting our community.

“We don’t want to be a trade body, but we can be a good barometer of trends within the advisory community.”
