Former Legal & General Investments managing director Simon Ellis has joined HSBC Global Asset Management (HSBC GAM) in the newly-created role of global head of client segments.
In this role Mr Ellis will oversee the development of propositions for various parts of HSBC GAM’s client base, such as pension scheme clients and sovereign wealth funds.
Mr Ellis left Legal & General Investments in January last year after more than three years at the company. He was succeeded at L&G by Simon Pistell.
He has also held senior roles at Fidelity, Axa Investment Managers and Henderson. He spent 14 years at Henderson, latterly as head of UK retail.
As well as his asset management roles, Mr Ellis was also involved with the Financial Services Skills Council - later the Financial Skills Partnership - for more than three years.
