FCA appoints BoA director as investment banking head

The Financial Conduct Authority has appointed a managing director of Bank of America Merrill Lynch as head of investment banking in its supervision division.

Julia Hoggett is currently responsible for debt capital markets products including European commercial paper, covered bonds and green bonds in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

She has also had a hand in advising financial institutional clients on their overall funding strategies.

Ms Hoggett will take up the role in early May.

In January of this year the FCA appointed Robert Taylor as its head of wealth management and private banking. In February it announced the appointment of James Kelly as an adviser in its wholesale banking and investment division.

Karina McTeague was recruited from Lloyds Banking Group last year as director of retail banking.
