Legg Mason lists offshore range on Cofunds

Legg Mason has continued its drive to open up its offshore funds to a wider UK retail audience by listing four more funds on the Cofunds platform.

The US asset manager has a wide range of funds domiciled in Ireland, run mainly by its subsidiaries such as Western Asset Management and ClearBridge.

The four new funds to go onto Cofunds include the top-performing $2bn (£1.2bn) Legg Mason ClearBridge US Aggressive Growth fund, managed by Evan Bauman and Richie Freeman.

It also includes the Legg Mason Western Asset Macro Opportunities Bond fund, managed by Kenneth Leech and Prashant Chandran, which has surpassed $500m already, in spite of only being launched in November 2013.

The other two funds are the $280m Legg Mason Capital Management Opportunity Fund, which is run by legendary manager Bill Miller along with Samantha McLemore, and the $1.3bn Legg Mason Royce US Small Cap Opportunity fund, managed by Bill Hench and Buzz Zaino.

The new funds complete Legg Mason’s Irish offshore range on Cofunds.

Adam Gent, head of UK sales at Legg Mason, said: “Listing these offshore funds on the UK’s biggest financial services platform is an important step forward in giving the wider advisory market access to some of our best capabilities.”
