The head of personal banking at Triodos Bank is urging investors to consider accounts that support charities and green initiatives as they decide how to use their enhanced Isa allowance this summer.

Mr Davies said: “By choosing to save in an ethical Isa, you can combine a decent financial return on your savings with the knowledge that your Isa will be making a real difference to society and the environment.”

He said just 100 savers could fund a community wind turbine, creating sufficient green energy for more than 500 homes, if they used the bigger Nisa allowance of £15,000, which comes into effect in July.
