GVO Investment Management has appointed fund manager Jamie Seaton as its chief executive as part of a reshuffle of its senior management.

Former Man Group chief executive Christopher Chambers has been appointed chairman of the company, replacing Jonathan Morgan who has stepped down having worked at the company since 2008.

Mr Seaton replaces Adam Steiner as chief executive of the group, while fellow fund manager Stuart Widdowson has also been appointed to GVO’s board.

The company was rebranded as GVO - having previously been known as SVG - last year following a takeover by Swiss group Hansa Aktiengesellschaft.

Mr Seaton and Mr Widdowson run the £186.3m GVO UK Focus fund, which ranked in the top 10 per cent of funds in the IMA UK All Companies sector in one, three and five years according to FE Analytics. They also manage the £105m Strategic Equity Capital investment trust.

A statement from GVO said the two managers would retain their day-to-day focus on the management of the two portfolios, but the group has promoted analyst Jeff Harris to assistant manager and is seeking to hire another analyst.
