Life & Pensions Awards 2014: Best of the best gather to collect their accolades

In an enjoyable and entertaining event at the glitzy Sartoria restaurant in London’s Savile Row, the best of industry were rewarded for their innovative practices and client propositions during a day of sunshine and tube strikes.

Minesh Patel scooped the adviser of the year crown and Aviva topped the provider charts, while the host, Tim Jones, gave tips on how to pose for photographs.

The chief executive of Nest got the guests laughing with his jokes from the stage, as he ordered the winners to follow his strict and slightly unorthodox instructions when collecting their awards, while poking fun at one or two creative job titles.

With many awards handed out, it was Mr Patel, Chris Daems, Philip Haden, Paul Cliffe and Redbourne Wealth Management who came out on top in their respective adviser categories.

On the provider front, Aviva scooped six awards, while Bupa, Standard Life, Just Retirement, AJ Bell and Scottish Life also left the event victorious.

After several hours of laughs, applauses and collecting trophies, the guests then moved to the bar to toast their collective success until the early hours of the evening in what proved to be a hugely enjoyable afternoon of triumph and entertainment.
