Ex-FSA grandee Sheila Nicoll joins Schroders

Schroders has hired former FSA director of conduct policy Sheila Nicoll as head of public policy.

Ms Nicoll first joined the FSA in 2007 as director of its retail firms division and was one of the key figures behind the RDR.

Since leaving the FSA in April 2013, Ms Nicoll has worked as a senior adviser at accountancy giant Ernst & Young, focusing on the asset management sector.

Prior to joining the FSA, she spent 15 years at fund management trade body the Investment Management Association, latterly as deputy chief executive.

Schroders executive vice chairman Massimo Tosato said the firm had created the new head of public policy role “to enhance our engagement with regulatory change globally”.
