Award success for Chase de Vere adviser

Simon Walshe, an IFA for Bath-based Chase de Vere has, for the second straight year, secured a double accolade in passing his professional examinations.

According to a statement from the advisory firm, Mr Walshe attained the highest scores of all entrants in the South West, including Bath and Bristol, in the AF3 paper on pension planning and the Best Completion award for the Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning.

This follows his success last year when he achieved the highest scores in the Chartered Insurance Institute’s AF4 examination, based on investment planning, and the CII’s CF8 examination, based on long-term care.

Andrew Stevenson, senior manager for Chase de Vere, said: “It is huge credit to Mr Walshe that he has achieved such fantastic results for the second successive year, while achieving Chartered Financial Planner status, which is generally regarded as the gold standard for professional qualifications in financial advice.”

A spokesman for the CII could not confirm pass rates for 2014 exams, but pointed to the average pass rates for the Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning, which in 2013 was 45.94 per cent for the AF3 examination.

The CII will be holding its own award ceremony on 18 September.
