Platform One has added a range of Skandia International Bonds to its investment services available to advisers, Peter Collier, its head of distribution has announced.

He said: “Advisers will be interested in these for UK clients and certain EU jurisdictions such as Spain and Cyprus, as well as the Far East, Middle East and some African countries. This is a perfect fit for our overseas wrap platform that has services to suit the differing requirements of advisers in different jurisdictions.”

The wrap service has added the International and European Portfolio Bonds and the Collective Bonds, including the Spanish Bond.

The International and European Portfolio Bonds are designed for clients wanting to make their investments more tax-efficient and self-assessment-friendly, with the possibility of placing each policy in trust. They can also be used as a corporate investment, which can be particularly useful for advisers.

James Priday, director of Exeter-based Prydis Wealth, said: “We have used offshore bonds for our clients for a long time. Using offshore bonds is good if focusing on the international market, as they give plenty of flexibility, especially if the client does not know if their tax situation will change.”
