Henderson Insurance Brokers has added former National League Basketball player Michael Tkaczuk to its ranks.

Graduate intern Mr Tkaczuk has started at the Hessle office as a result of the company’s relationship with Hull University Business School.

The 22-year-old completed a four-year degree in business and accounting at the University of Hull this summer and will now be trained up on all aspects of the insurance broking sector, assisting brokers and providing internal administration support.

Chris Harvey, director at Henderson Insurance Brokers’ Hessle office, said: “We still have a standard apprenticeship recruitment programme underway, but we are hopeful this will provide us with even more high calibre, skilled employees to help the continued growth of the last 10 years.”

Background

Earlier this year, a recruitment programme launched by national advisory firm Foster Denovo saw one graduate join the firm’s employee benefits arm. Caroline Monk, 26, said Foster Denovo’s training academy helped her qualify as an adviser. She is now studying for QCF level six.
