House prices in the northeast remain below pre-crash levels even as prices in the south of England reach new heights.

According to a report by LSL Property, prices in the northeast and Cumbria are still 8.3 per cent lower than in March 2008. Only prices in East Anglia, the southeast, southwest and London exceed their 2007/08 peaks.
