Seneca hires Peter Elston as global investment strategist

Seneca Investment Managers has hired Peter Elston, a former Aberdeen multi-asset head, as global investment strategist.

Mr Elston has joined Liverpool-based Seneca to help with the asset allocation and geographical spread of investment in the firm’s two multi-asset funds and its investment trust.

Mr Elston had previously been head of Asia Pacific strategy and asset allocation at Aberdeen until May this year.

Prior to joining Aberdeen in 2008, he had worked at Mercury Asset Management, Northpoint Investment Partners and Oblong Capital Management, a research firm he set up himself.

Seneca bought Miton Capital Partners earlier this year, which included the CF Miton Distribution fund, CF Miton Diversified Growth fund and the Midas Income & Growth Trust.
