Allianz launched its emerging market debt franchise in October 2013. The team has grown to 10 members, which includes portfolio managers and analysts.

Greg Sachin, chief investment officer of Allianz’s emerging market debt business said: “We firmly believe that strong economic-growth prospects, favourable demographics and markedly improving fundamentals mean that emerging markets debt is set to perform over the longer-term, in spite of any liquidity risk from a rise in US interest rates or country-specific geo-political tensions.”
