RLAM confirms absolute return government bond fund

Royal London Asset Management (Rlam) have confirmed plans to launch an absolute return fixed income fund in the coming months.

Rlam will launch the fund, which will be run by Paul Rayner, head of government bonds and Darren Bustin, head of derivatives.

The team will take a hefty number of positions to dilute risk. They aim to deliver absolute positive returns across the market cycle.

The fund will take long and short positions to take advantage of valuation differences.

This will be Mr Bustin’s first fund.

Mr Rayner currently manages the Index Linked Gilt fund and UK Government Bond fund.
