Standard Life has announced the restructuring of its communications division to provide a ‘communications hub’ for the UK and European business and the Standard Life Group, a spokesman for the group has said.
The spokesman said: “The new hub will cover public relations, public affairs, internal communications, brand, event management and some other disciplines.”
The group is currently recruiting for a head of the communications hub, as well as a head of corporate communications role.
The head of corporate communications is a new role and will report to the hub head and will cover both PR and public affairs for Standard Life.
Barry Cameron, who has been the interim head of the communications hub, will be moving to take up the new role of head of strategic communications for Standard Life Investments and in the meantime Claire Burston has been appointed as the acting head of PR.
Headquartered in Edinburgh, Standard Life group employs around 8,500 people through businesses in the UK, Europe, North America and Asia.
Listed on the London Stock Exchange with approximately 1.3m shareholders, it has roughly 6m customers and assets under administration of more than £320bn.
