New annuities gripes to Fos hit 553 at end 2014

The Financial Ombudsman Service received 553 new complaints about annuities between April and December 2014, according to its latest news edition.

Over the same period, Fos also received 306 new complaints about occupational pension transfers or opt-outs, 141 regarding income drawdowns and 91 about open-ended investment companies.

The ombudsman said it had received nearly 75,000 new complaints during October, November and December 2014.
